The J6 prisoner bracelet project is getting a little update.
Thank you to everyone who has participated so far!
Now for the update. With this little twist, you get to be even more involved! Rather than making and distributing the bracelets, I’d like to encourage you to make a bracelet. Now you can make it whatever design you’d like, and it gives it an even more personal touch.
Here are a few ideas/tips/resources:
Patriot Mail Project is a great resource for finding inmate info (including inmate numbers).
Check out this video if you’d like to make your own beads.
The Beadery offers number beads made in the USA. You can probably find their beads on eBay as well.
Here’s a video that includes how to make an adjustable closure for your bracelet if that’s an element you’d like to include in your design.
Make your bracelet as simple or in-depth as you’d like. You could just slide number beads on elastic and knot it, make a simple (or intricate) friendship-style bracelet, or another design. It’s up to you! And if you’d like to make one as a reminder to pray for a non-J6 inmate, absolutely go for it!
If you have any questions or need help with how to make a bracelet, you are very welcome to send me a message (reply to an email from this substack if you’re already subscribed [be aware that if you leave a comment instead, it’s public] or subscribe to this substack, then reply to the welcome email.
If you make a bracelet and want to share, I’d love to see pictures!
Again, thank you to everyone who has been part of this project in any way! 🧡
