A lot of people are talking about the Trump conviction. The whole thing a joke (not in the good way). If you’re reading this blog, you probably already know that.
What “they” are doing to President Trump is wrong….and desperate. However, it’s kind of like these thugs (to borrow a term from President Trump) are campaigning for him. Did you hear that donaldjtrump.com crashed it had so much traffic to donate after the verdict?
Hear this: it was absolutely ridiculous that this whole thing even got this far. Some questions/concerns:
What about this statement that Stormy Daniels apparently shared? You can research and decide how accurate or legally binding you think it is, but if nothing else, sure seems like it could at least cause reasonable doubt, let alone that there was a guilty verdict.
How about the statute of limitations? Has that window passed?
What about “star witness” Michael Cohen having been convicted of perjury? Although a conviction — or even a plea — doesn’t necessarily mean someone is guilty, it’s still something to consider.
If it even happened (whether or not Trump actually knew about it), is “hush money” actually a crime? (Maybe not exactly the same, but this old article from fake new PBS about taxpayer money being used for sexual harassment and sexual discrimination might be worth a quick read.)
How about Cohen admitting to stealing money from the Trump Organization?
Do your own research on these questions; I’m sharing some thoughts with you, but check the facts yourself and come to your own conclusions.
The trial — let alone the outcome — is a disgrace. However, if he hadn’t had a guilty verdict, we might’ve been lulled back into thinking that the justice system is working better than it is. (Rebecca Lavrenz shared a similar idea regarding her own Jan6 case.)
It is worrisome, but the Bible instructs Christians not to worry. Does this mean we sit around and passively accept evil? No. But we know that God has a plan, and He ultimately wins!
Keep President Trump and his family in your prayers.
