I’m a little uncertain as whether or not to post this. (If you’re reading it, apparently I decided to post it…) I don’t want to feed a rift, particularly one that the mainstream media is likely fanning the flames of and loving. But what if something needs to be said and I didn’t say it? Or is this something we should just be ignoring?
I was a big DeSantis fan. I went to a local rally, and later went to a rather local book tour stop. I was given a “Together We Shine” tumbler. I made at least one “Don’t Tread On Florida” sticker. I thought of him as “America’s Governor,” fighting for our freedoms and standing up to Fauci. I’m getting concerned though. This tweet from Catturd puts things well (yes, I realize I’m referencing a political commentator who goes by Catturd).
It seemed like he did a great job governing Florida, especially through Hurricane Ian and it’s aftermath. Did he, or was it hype and PR — or maybe a combination? I’m not sure. And Florida has garnered a reputation for being a free state. Is this due to DeSantis, and is it just temporarily free? (The video linked in point 4 from Dr. Jane Ruby brings this into question.) Are his actions and his words different?
Take each of these points and use them as thinking points. Do your own research. (As with all my posts!)
Here are some yellow flags:
The possible changing of the current law that doesn’t allow him to run for president without resigning as governor looks fishy. This is not a stance on whether or not that law should be changed; I’m not sure. It does seem like it would be difficult for someone to govern a state and campaign for presidency at the same time, but the timing is awfully suspicious.
How does he have time to write a book, promote it with a book tour (particularly in states other than Florida) and govern Florida? He probably really does have a lot of energy and drive. I’m not saying it’s impossible, but stacked on other things, it seems a possible concern.
He hasn’t seemed to say much about the J6ers.
Pretty scary info about some bills in Florida in this video of the Dr. Jane Ruby Show. It’s rather long, but I highly recommend giving this video a watch. Even if it seems conspiracy theory-ish, it’s thought-provoking. (And conspiracy theorists are earning a pretty good reputation of being right.) It’s looking like the Florida government has more potential power than many of us realize.
His response to being questioned about being Trump’s VP didn’t do him any favors.
It took him a long time to come out with a statement regarding the possible Trump indictment, and then his statement was almost backhanded. Then there’s this take on his statement regarding not extraditing President Trump. On the contrary, Vivek Ramaswamy’s prompt denunciation of Bragg’s ridiculousness really raised my respect for him and put him more on my radar.
His association with Dominion lawyers doesn’t sound too good.
He campaigned as a “Pitbull Trump Defender” in the past, but doesn’t seem to be so now. People are allowed to change their minds, but what happened? Was he just saying that to get America First patriots to support him, or has he really changed his stance? (Thanks to this post for bringing this campaign to my attention.)
It’s also really interesting that he had a “Don’t Tread On Florida” governor stop in Fort Myers area (Southwest Florida) on the same day Trump was at a rally endorsing Marco Rubio in Miami area (South Florida). That could have just been a scheduling flub, or maybe not seen as competition since DeSantis was running for governor and Rubio was running for senate.
DeSantis is looking like a career politician. Is it possible for career politicians to do a good job? Maybe. But they’re something to be leery of.
“But Trump started it with his name calling.” I realize that it looks like Trump started the public rift between the two. Could it be that he knows something we don’t? Remember that time Trump refused to shake Nancy Pelosi’s hand? At the time it seemed over the top, but now I think I understand.
Many supporters just want him to wait. It wasn’t that I didn’t want DeSantis to become president, I just wanted him to wait until 2028. I’m not a campaign expert, and I don’t know all the ins and outs of politics, but if he would’ve backed Trump for 2024, I think he could’ve had a killer campaign for 2028. A lot of the Trump/DeSantis base was overlapping. It looks like instead of having a killer campaign, DeSantis is killing his campaign before it even starts.
It’s incredibly disappointing. Could Governor DeSantis be disappointing me similar to the way George W. Bush has disappointed me? I thought of lot of Governor DeSantis. I don’t have all the answers, but I’ve shared some concerns I have above. Maybe there’s just some personality tiff between him and Trump. Or maybe he’s going through some growing pains. But things are looking awfully concerning to me.
However it works out, this is a good reminder that while we need to hold leaders accountable and shouldn’t be apathetic to politics, God is who we should put our trust in.

Updates
It’s concerning that a Florida bill would be signed in a foreign country. I understand the correlation, but I’m not sure it’s appropriate. Here’s a take on the law from Laura Loomer (her take can be especially interesting, as she is Jewish).
This stop in Des Moines after a Trump rally was cancelled due to weather concerns adds more fuel to the shadow campaign speculation.
On its own, taking “FL” out of his twitter handle might not be a big deal. Maybe it still isn’t a big deal. But stacked with other things happening and his team member’s reported response to “Stay tuned” to an inquiry if this meant that he planned to run for president, this feels like a slap in the face to Floridians.
Governor DeSantis did comment on political persecution.
This is a long post from Roger Stone (who is not a DeSantis fan), but it is interesting, particularly the Murdoch connection with the governor’s book.
Not totally sure where he stands on it, but in this article, it sounds like Gov. DeSantis is implying that Joe Biden was legitimately elected in 2020. (Check it yourself to see if you get that or not.)
It’s troubling that DeSantis War Room appears to be using misleading AI images to smear an opponent (Trump).
Looks like there are some CCP (Chinese Communist Party) donation ties (and here and here are relevant articles).
There appear to be some Dominion connections.
I think DeSantis has done a fantastic job as Florida's governor and would have gladly supported him on a Trump-DeSantis ticket for 2024 and possibly as president for 2028. I don't know if he has any sinister intentions; mostly (though I don't care for his position on the J6 prisoners), Trump has a proven track record and he doesn't. Trump may truly have his reasons for his "mean tweets" about DeSantis - disloyalty surely being one - but I don't think the polarization helps. If Trump does become the 2024 Republican candidate (which seems pretty likely), I'm afraid that DeSantis supporters won't vote for him out of spite. And if DeSantis should somehow become the 2024 Republican candidate, or run for president in 2028 (which seems more likely - if we're still having free elections then), Trump supporters won't vote for him and we'll end up with another Biden, or worse. Trump also recently slammed Kayleigh McEnany, who was an outstanding press secretary to him. He's still "my guy", but I wouldn't want to burn bridges with people who might be useful to his administration. Beyond that, some of his "mean tweets" have been hilarious and refreshingly candid.
I completely meant my reply with good intentions. It's a great topic to discuss. I do agree with you on all levels. The issue will be something important to keep an eye on, as with everything else going on as well. There's so much infiltration, sabotage, counter-sabotage, corruption, bias... discernment is a gift. :D
